Oxford Biomedica plc

The Cavendish View
Oxford Biomedica is a leading pure-play viral vector CDMO supporting cell and gene therapy developers across clinical development and commercialisation. Meeting management provides an opportunity to discuss the maturation of OXB's programme portfolio, including progression into higher-value commercial supply agreements, and the resulting potential for revenue growth, increased facility utilisation and margin expansion.

Let's deliver life changing therapies together
OXB doesn't develop its own medicines. It manufactures other companies' — specifically the viral vectors that carry therapeutic genetic material into a patient's cells, which is the hardest and most tightly regulated part of making a cell or gene therapy. It is a contract development and manufacturing organisation, working with pharmaceutical and biotech clients from pre-clinical work through to commercial launch.
Its capability spans three vector types, each with a proprietary platform behind it: lentivirus, where the company has three decades of manufacturing history; AAV; and adenovirus, where it manufactured over 100 million doses of the Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. It also supports MVA and other poxvirus vectors used in immuno-oncology and therapeutic vaccines.
Services run end to end — process development, GMP manufacturing, analytical methods, regulatory support and quality services. Clients engage in one of three ways: a platform route for early-stage programmes wanting to reach GMP quickly on a proven process, a custom route for those needing flexibility in how their candidate is made, and tech transfer for Phase I to III programmes moving manufacture to a contract partner. OXB maintains a Drug Master File with the FDA and has supported multiple IND and MAA submissions.
Manufacturing runs from GMP facilities in the UK, mainland Europe and the United States, including a commercial-scale, FDA-approved site in Durham, North Carolina, so clients can produce close to their clinical or commercial markets. Clients include Novartis, Bristol Myers Squibb, AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Arcellx, Cabaletta Bio and Kyverna Therapeutics.
The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and was formerly Oxford Biomedica.
